London 1971-five flights up......
Created by Linda 3 years ago
i was living in a large London flat in Kensington with 7 other people. They all worked nights and i was the only day worker. There was a knock on the door and there stood Gill. She was looking for my flatmate.....a huge Czech bouncer, whom she had nursed through an operation, and wanted to check on him (excuse the pun!). Noone was home, except me, so I invited her in for a cup of tea. We became firm friends, later shared a flat of our own and I watched her marry the love of her life and have two wonderful sons. Later, her extended family and grandchildren became the centre of her life. She loved to travel and she and Dick visited me in the States several times.
Sometimes we were not in constant contact, but when we did connect, we just took up where we left off. She was a woman of many talents, a huge heart and much love to give. Her passing is a great loss to her family and the world in general. Her hospitality and caregiving, unusual in todays world. See you later, in heaven, my friend......❤️
